    Dune (possible spoilers)

I don't know how many here have read the Dune series(the main series, not the prequel books), but something has been bugging me since I finished Sandworms of Dune. I can't decided whether or not Leto's Golden Path succeeded. On one hand I think it did because the point was to ensure the survival of humanity. On the other hand I think it did not because the other point was that humanity would never again need a super being like the Kwizatz Haderach to save them, and Duncan ended up being a Kwizatz Haderach.

I loooooved the first Dune book. Well, it started out kind of slow but once it got going it was awesome. Um, and I skipped most of those prophecy thingies at the chapter beginnings. The person who recommended it to me claimed that the sequel books weren't nearly impressive and I heeded his advice.

However, if I did decide to catch up I'd have to read the original book again because it's been a long time.

I would agree that the sequel books aren't quite as good as the first one, but they are still pretty good. If you have the time, I would definately recommend reading the rest of the series. That way, you can help me figure out my problem. Stick out tongue If you do, you'll notice a big difference when you get to the last two books since those were written by Frank Herbert's son. He added some of his own stuff to the last two.
